About me
Retired from teaching ESL with Los Angeles Unified School District after 32 years, I landed a post retirement dream job during the 2022-23 A/Y with the Department of State as an EL Fellow. I was posted to Osh, Kyrgyzstan, where I taught English and facilitation of English instruction to teachers of English as well as a host of activities that embarked on a hefty exploration of things American from culture, heritage, traditions, language. the land and its people. Kyrgyzstan was the ultimate surprise. Hardly was aware of it before I accepted. The people were as nice as nice could be Never once - no exaggeration - did I experience rude behavior om someone. The opposite was very true. Politeness and respect from all. Hospitality was second-to-none.
