About me
Farzana Cassim is an Instructional Technology Teacher Advisor at Evans Community Adult School, part of the Division of Adult and Career Education, LAUSD. With 30 years at Evans CAS, she began as an ESL Level 1A student and has held roles such as Educational Aide, Teacher Assistant, CTE and Individualized Instruction Lab Instructor, and Technology Coordinator. A Subject Matter Expert for OTAN, Farzana has delivered workshops on classroom technology at regional, state, national, and international conferences. She leads innovative projects at Evans, integrating AR books and apps into ESL, Academic, and CTE programs, and spearheading AR/VR Expos to introduce students, faculty, and other adult ed schools to immersive technologies. Farzana also developed an Innovation Library with AR/VR spaces, and a Makerspace, to help explore new technologies and career fields. She incorporates AR/VR in Health and Medical Assistant classes for hands-on learning through 3D models. Additionally, she taught an **AR Meets AI** summer reading class, where students used augmented reality to enhance comprehension and focus, blending technology with education to create an engaging learning environment.
