About me
Adrian became part of the SGV Chapter in 2022, initially serving as the Undergraduate Representative. In December 2023, he assumed the role of the Chapter’s Treasurer. He completed his B.A. in English Literature in the Fall of 2023 from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona where his passion for TESOL came unexpectedly during a Language Acquisition class, an alternative when his other choices were at capacity. This encounter with the subject and an inspiring professor led him to the opportunity of teaching abroad in 2019 at Jin Hua Foreign Language School in China, where the focus was on pronunciation and American culture. During the same year, he also studied abroad in Scotland, where the Scottish accent and Gaelic spoken in the highlands piqued his interests further. These two experiences convinced him that teaching English as a second language was his ultimate goal. Teaching English not only provides individuals with the chance to develop internationally but also offers educators the opportunity to enhance their capacity for empathy across diverse cultures. Looking forward, he is eagerly anticipating the completion of his TESOL graduate degree.
