Voices Unleashed: Speaking Assessment Practices That Empower Learners
Saturday November 16, 2024 1:45pm - 2:45pm PST
In order to reflect on and offer insights to transform the way teachers approach ESOL speaking skills assessment, this engaging panel will feature three panelists presenting best practices and case studies from the university, community college, and K-12 levels. Our panelists will showcase effective, equitable, and decolonized assessment procedures & techniques that not only measure proficiency but also empower learners. By implementing these approaches in diverse teaching environments, educators can help students achieve their speaking goals and alleviate the stress often associated with speaking another language, thus fostering more confident and capable speakers.
